Talk Title: Towards the automatic generation of states of the art: current trends and challenges in the automated analysis of scientific texts.
Description:
In this talk I will discuss the recent advances in the automated analysis of scholarly data. In particular, the last challenges at SemEval 2017 and 2018 about relation extraction in scientific publications highlighted how researchers are applying the latest Natural Language Processing technologies to this task, and what are the key issues that still need to be solved. Ideally, these advances would lead to a new generation of tools to assist researchers and other specialists in their tasks, such as compiling a state of the art of a given topic, or writing a review for a project or an article.
His research works are focused on Knowledge Extraction, Semantic Information Retrieval and Sentiment Analysis. He is the author of more than 80 articles in international peer-reviewed conferences and journals.
